Wesley Samuels
CO-OWNER, INSTRUCTOR
Wes is committed to sharing a path to healthy living including the spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional aspects of life through training. Wes holds a degree in Human Performance Sports Science from Tennessee State University and training certifications from NCSF and GoFlo. He served as an intern Strength Coach at Samford University (2016 – 2017) and has more than 9 years of experience in sports training, personal training, and group training. Wesley is an Alabama native and resides in Birmingham with his beautiful wife and two handsome sons.

Rock Brown
CO-OWNER, INSTRUCTOR
Rock is committed to inspiring his community to be healthier in order to help change the statistic of Alabama being one of the fattest states in the country. Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Rock is a former UAB collegiate football player and holds a degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Alabama. He is a Certified Physical Therapist with more than 10 years of experience as a gym manager and strength and conditioning trainer for sports training, personal training, and group training.

Bria Samuels
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER, INSTRUCTOR
Bria is a former athlete and believes fitness is a lifestyle rather than a period of temporary change. She is committed to seeing others achieve their personal fitness goals, and follows the mantra “I provide the plan, you have to put in the work.” She holds her training certification from NCSF and has more than 4 years of coaching experience. She currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Grindhouse which includes gym management, event planning and social media relations in addition to being a personal and small group trainer. Bria is an Alabama native and resides in Birmingham.

Nick Jackson
INSTRUCTOR, NUTRITION COACH
Nick became a fitness enthusiast when he began his own fitness journey in 2017 which inspired him to take on the role of Grindhouse Instructor and Nutrition Coach to help others achieve their fitness goals and become healthier and stronger. He holds Physical Therapy and Nutrition Coaching certifications from NASM and has more than 5 years of coaching experience. Nick is an Alabama native.

Shaquil Terry
INSTRUCTOR
Shaquil is a life-long athlete who has been engaged in sports since he was 3 years old and has played football, baseball, and basketball. He holds degrees in Sports Management and Coaching from Kennesaw State University where he also played collegiate football and is a two-time Big South Champion. After experiencing a career-ending sports injury, Shaq redirected his enthusiasm for sports towards becoming the Coaching and Fitness Instructor he is today so he can give back and help others realize their dreams. Shaquil is an Alabama native.

Stephanie Ezell
INSTRUCTOR
Stephanie became passionate about fitness when it helped her successfully overcome obesity and a sedentary lifestyle to lead a heathier and more enriched life. She believes it’s never too late to begin living a healthy lifestyle that includes fitness and an intentional diet. Closing out a 25-year career as a Band Director in the Trussville School System during this transformative time in her life, she became a Personal Trainer to serve and promote continual physical improvement no matter one’s stage of life. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Jacksonville State University. She is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer.

Ashley Steger

Ashley became passionate about fitness during her time at Miles College where she played basketball for 4 years. Upon graduating, she became a group fitness coach and trainer to help others become the best version of themselves and follows the mantra “health is the real wealth.” She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Miles College. Ashley is an Alabama native.

Kendrez White
INSTRUCTOR
Kendrez is a former collegiate athlete who played football for Garden City Community College and Shorter University prior to becoming a fitness instructor. He is committed to seeing others show up every day to become the best versions of themselves and follows the mantra “You either make a way or make an excuse.” He holds Strength and Conditioning certifications from ISSA and enjoys teaching group classes and personalized training programs. Kendrez is an Alabama native.
